Oriana Schwindt
Writer | Producer
Oriana had her first byline in Rolling Stone at age 19, and worked her way up through the entertainment journalism ranks including TV Guide and The Wrap, before ending up at Variety in 2017 as their TV News Editor. She took a hiatus from the entertainment world to complete a reporting project that took her to the geographic center of every single state in America (yes, even Alaska and Hawaii).

Transitioning from writing about TV to writing TV, Oriana secured a spot in the WBTV Writers’ Workshop in 2022, and then landed a development deal with WBTV for her pilot PIG-BUTCHER, about a young woman who starts a scambusting business to track down the scammer who stole her dad’s savings and help others avoid his fate. While writing this pilot, she and husband Steve wrote and produced their first feature, indie horror SIGHT UNSEEN.

She loves immersing herself in tech dystopias, low-rent crime, horror with an absurdist streak, urban planning, and the fantasy genre. Her favorite place to be is in the space between characters, grounding even the highest concepts with big emotions.
